I don’t care much about the ECC feature technically. What matters most is getting more RAM for a lower price. If that means sacrificing ECC functionality, it doesn’t really matter to me. If affordable RAM works, that’s great—I’ll just pass my 2x4GB desktop sticks to my dad for his PC.
I believe this refers to an ECC registered/buffered memory, which is also called buffered memory. That’s correct. @SLAYR if I’m right, you can purchase affordable ECC Registered DIMMs on eBay at a lower price and get significantly more capacity since @Gazereths confirmed that ECC memory functions on a P6T with an Xeon CPU.
