Hello,
On Intel's CPU specifications, the i9 7900X is listed to support up to 128GB of RAM. Has anyone verified if 8x32GB DIMMs work with this processor? I'm curious since sometimes the maximum RAM figures are based on the largest DIMM size available at the time the specs were published.
Recently, I upgraded my laptop to double the RAM capacity mentioned in Intel's documentation. Now I'm planning a upgrade to 256GB on an Asus WS X299 Sage board using 8x32GB DIMMs. I've successfully used 4x32GB DIMMs at 3200MHz for a total of 128GB, and the motherboard can accommodate 256GB with extra slots available. My workflow would greatly benefit from that amount, but buying the full kit would be costly unless the CPU truly supports it.
Thank you

On the specifications document for your motherboard indicates that 256gb is compatible with X series processors featuring six cores or higher. You meet these requirements.

The WS X299 SAGE Tech Specs provide comprehensive details about the CPU, including support for Intel® Virtual RAID on the CPU (VROC). The Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 functionality relies on the specific CPU models. For more information, visit www.asus.com.

The RAM QVL list does not show any tested configurations with 32gb modules. A QVL only reflects the RAM that was tested at launch and may not always reflect current availability. If you have a particular brand in mind, check the RAM selection page for a 256gb option.

It seems Corsair offers some solutions: [link to Corsair memory page](https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories...memoryType). However, it’s advisable to reach out to Corsair customer support to confirm compatibility.

Adding more RAM might not be feasible. RAM is sold in kits for a reason, as motherboards require consistent voltage, case, and speed specifications. The internal design is tailored to the kit's capacity. Ram from the same vendor and part number can vary in manufacturing over time. Some motherboards are particularly sensitive to changes in capacity. This becomes more challenging when multiple modules are added together.

I upgraded to 256GB RAM (8x 32GB) without any problems, running the i9-7900X CPU on the Asus x299 sage ws motherboard. This is to ensure it works well for others.
