The GT 1030 offers genuine 4K decoding capabilities, though this depends on your specific requirements. Are you looking for actual video decoding or just a display? Either way, an older dual-channel card will suffice. Pairing it with a dual-channel setup is essential. Using four times the standard capacity—such as two 8GB modules—provides double the bandwidth. Ryzen processors benefit greatly from fast memory and dual channels, which boost overall performance. There are many affordable options available; you can find 2x8GB bundles here: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/memory...ice&page=1. A four-times configuration also works if extra RAM is needed.

You're looking to run 4K videos smoothly on your GPU setup. The GeForce 700 Series PY730GT12801G5 1GB is noted for supporting 4K H264, which aligns with your goal. As for the CX550, it should handle your configuration well given the Ryzen 7 2700X, SSD, and additional RAM.

I lack knowledge about handling 4K on GT 730 class cards; I'm unsure of the performance. A CX550 would suffice for such a system.

Only GTX graphics cards support NVENC, so the GT730 decodes videos using its CUDA units rather than an ASIC designed for that task. Kepler cards feature HDMI ports that only handle up to 4K at 24Hz, and DisplayPort is required for 4K60 playback. Trying to force 4K60 over HDMI will lower the color depth, which decreases video quality.

I missed something, maybe you didn't confirm this. My motherboard features three PCI connections. I’m not sure about those lane connections, but I notice it has these setups: one PCI Express x16 slot operating at x16 (PCIEX16) *For best performance, place a single PCI Express graphics card in the PCIEX16 slot.* Actual support might differ depending on the CPU. The PCIEX16 slot follows the PCI Express 3.0 standard. One PCI Express x16 slot works at x16, while one PCIEX4 slot handles x4 and one PCIEX1 slot supports x1 (PCIEX4 and PCI Express 2.0). I think I should connect the GTX 1060 to the PCIEX16. Keep in mind "Actual support may vary by CPU," but does the Ryzen 7 2700x have it? Now, could a GT 730 fit into the PCIEX4 slot? It seems the slot has less capacity. And there’s an PCIEX1 slot, so I might be able to install my wireless card there too?
