I recently switched from an i5-8400 to a Ryzen 5 5600x, but I’m still using my older RAM. I have four sticks of Kingston DDR4-2666 16GB, totaling 64GB. Is this suitable for my Ryzen system? Or should I upgrade to 3200MHz RAM? This is mainly for gaming and browsing on a PC with three monitors, which means a lot of Chrome tabs open. The system doesn’t handle rendering or heavy CPU tasks. If there’s any performance left, I’d prefer the upgrade, but if it barely makes a difference, saving money might be better. Any advice?

I’d offer the 2666 MHz RAM and aim for a 16/32GB 3600 MHz CL16.

The difference in FPS between 3600 and 3200 RAM on your Aorus RX5700xt might not be significant, especially since 3600 RAM is quite costly. It's best to compare real-world performance rather than just numbers.

Memory speed boosts performance most noticeably in gaming due to its sensitivity to latency. The numbers mentioned are still relevant, but recent options like 3600MHz and C16 chips offer good value, making 3600MHz a solid choice. A setup around 4x8GB should work well.

It relies on your desired frame rate and stability needs. Usually, it becomes clear above 100fps.

You're right to consider that. At least 3200 is a solid minimum, but keep in mind how RAM speed and frequency affect performance. It might be better to start with less RAM and upgrade later if needed.
