Source date March 21 – Upgrade not required just because a new game is released: It makes sense to ask for around 5600 CPU to meet basic requirements, but expecting everyone who wants smooth gameplay to need a top-tier GPU and processor is unrealistic.
The X670 offers more PCIe lanes, improved VRMs, enhanced build quality, additional I/O options, and other advantages. I prefer having more capabilities than what I currently require, rather than missing out later. The price gap is roughly 50 euros for the same tier, so why waste on a less capable chipset? @podkall DD2 is just one factor, but if it were the only reason, I wouldn’t care at all.
Yes theres more in an X670, but a B650 is already overkill for the average consumers usage and overkill for AM5, and the build quality is irrelevant as there are a lot of different tiers of both X670 and B650 with various build qualities. Finally VRMs; decent B650 boards are already super overkill for AM5, unless youre heavily overclocking a 7950X, then theyre only adequate, but theyre still adequate
I see your point, but the cost gap remains relatively small (especially locally). The B650 AORUS Elite AX is about 50 euros less than the X670. The B650 Gaming X is roughly 80 euros cheaper than the X670. If it were half that price, it might make more sense, but staying under 100 euros isn’t worth it for me.
