Hello When I play BF4, the frame rate has been very low. I tried a bit of a test by opening my task manager on my second monitor while playing to check for any issues. The findings were intriguing. CPU usage averaged 50-60%, RAM usage 75-85%, and disk usage around 60%. It seems my RAM might be struggling, while my CPU is performing quite poorly. Could it be that the RAM is being limited somehow? If so, is it due to insufficient resources? Here are the specs: CPU - FX-8320 (Stock), GPU - R7 260X, RAM - 4GB Corsair Vengeance 500GB, HDD - 1TB Western Digital, PSU - Corsair CX 550W, Motherboard - ASRock 980DE3, Live Gamer HD Pro, TP-Link Wi-Fi card.

Colata 4GB of RAM isn't too much for a gaming rig even if you're not maxing it out, since you're not using it fully. It depends on the settings you're using and the actual FPS you're seeing.

Ensure your system has at least 5GB of RAM to avoid performance issues; typically, BF4 requires 1.2-1.6GB

It seems you're asking about improving performance by adding more RAM. The exact impact depends on the current frame rate issues, but generally, increasing RAM can help maintain smoother gameplay or better multitasking. Regarding low FPS, it could be due to various factors like graphics settings, system load, or hardware limitations.

I suggest going with 6GB. It's great how it uses just 80% of the RAM. In contrast, BF3 used nearly all of my 4GB on an older system.

-I boosted my RAM speed to 1600mhz and increased my CPU frequency to 3.8ghz. This improved stability and noticeably affected the display, yet my performance numbers stayed consistent across all settings. The main point is that changing the settings still makes a difference, even though FPS didn’t rise or fall much. There are clear visual effects from adjusting the graphics, proving that tweaking settings does work. (Some say changes don’t show up, so I wanted to highlight this.) For Low and Ultra settings, keeping 60-80 is fine, but the numbers vary too much to average. (I’m not experiencing CPU spikes.) Does your RAM limit how much your CPU can utilize at 80%+? If you want to use all 8 cores in BF4, should you raise the core count to 8 and test the results?

30 to 40 users on low settings, but it seems odd since some have 2GB RAM, a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo processor, and older GPUs are achieving higher frame rates than this.

30 to 40 on a low setting. Checked the thread a little lower, made a few adjustments, but it’s not quite there yet.

It varies by GPU; I see 30-40fps at 1080p even on low settings, and my system is relatively new.
