I recently changed my CPU, motherboard, and GPU (switching from NVIDIA to AMD). Since then, I've been experiencing more frequent BSODs than before. Before the change, they happened roughly every other day; now they occur several times daily. When it's not a BSOD, I see strange error messages (referred to as ?SOD) where the computer stops responding, audio stops, and everything on the screen freezes. It feels like a BSOD that doesn’t even show the blue error code screen. These issues seem to happen most often when Chrome is open or when a video is playing or paused in Chrome. I think my drivers might be the problem. Every time I update my AMD drivers to the latest beta, I get a ?SOD error and have to remove the AMD driver on restart before installing the newest stable version.

Question 1: Can you explain this to a five-year-old in simple terms? How do I find, read, and fix these BSOD files? I searched online but don’t know exactly where to look in Windows Explorer.

Question 2: Is there an easy way (or software) to automatically remove and reinstall all drivers? Question 2b: If the answer is no, would cloning my operating system’s SSD to a partition on my HDD, then wiping the SSD and cloning it back work? I’m not sure if that would fix the problem. Is there another way? Thanks.

CPU is operating normally, though my GPU might be throttled to maintain performance. Unless MSI afterburner is causing issues, everything should function at its standard speed.

I recommend reinstalling since you modified all those components.

The minidump file is located at C:\Windows\Minidump. You can examine it using http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html.

Great to hear! Your setup with whocrashed is working, though you're seeing only a few issues. Appreciate the feedback!

The error code is 404, and it was triggered by the file "example.txt".

Perform a virus and malware check to avoid daily issues. A clean installation would be beneficial, though it might be hardware-dependent. Begin with a thorough antivirus scan and a complete malware analysis.

Checking with malwarebytes right now, do you see any distinction between malwarebytes and virus software? It’s not uncommon to use both for protection.
