I’m searching for an affordable VR gaming option. I haven’t assembled my own PC yet, mainly due to budget constraints. I used my college’s HTC Vive and was impressed by it. I’ve briefly considered the Oculus Go but questioned whether it’s the top choice. How many games are available on each platform? And what’s the overall experience compared to the Vive? I’m also open to PlayStation VR if it provides better support than the Oculus Go. Please assist!
A T3500 Workstation equipped with X5690 for $220 is available from Newegg – featuring 6 cores/12 threads, requiring an HDD or SSD plus an operating system (free OS with a watermark). Adding an HDD would be the most affordable option, though an SSD would be preferred due to better prices and performance. Free OS included. Pair it with a GTX 1060 3gb or RX 580 4gb, and get the Lenovo Explorer headset and handsets for an even more budget-friendly VR setup.
the required gpu is a 1060 or rx580 unless you already own one; the experience might lead to nausea. as a cpu, i suggest at least an i5 or r5 2500. for a headset, read the review on the go if you're thinking about getting it—i've only used the rift and vive, which felt quite similar.
I don't have a specific place to look for the review, but you can check reliable sources like tech websites or forums that discuss the Oculus Go.
The most affordable VR option available is the PSVR. You can purchase a PS4 for $200 and a PSVR for $200, resulting in a total cost of $400 for a good VR experience.
They have increased their prices since I started promoting their great features... The T3500 with X5690 costs $240 shipped.

The Oculus Go costs $250 and provides a good selection of games, but I’m curious how it stacks up against the PSVR. I’m willing to consider it if it’s $200 or $300 more, but I’m a bit unsure.
