Never encountered Windows 8 at a lower cost than its launch price near $120. Probably found it at Staples for about $106, though I’m sure Google will be a better deal here.

In fact, this might be feasible. I’m aware that our college offers free operating systems and software via the MSDNAA Web Store. We can use server and desktop versions of Windows going back to 2003—XP was recently discontinued at the start of the year.

I already sent Microsoft proof confirming my student status so they can approve me. This would let me buy Windows 8 for 60€, but it says approval will take 3-5 working days. I don’t want to wait—I just got a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM today and I’d like to use the new parts right away. I’m not patient enough, hehe.
