While browsing Newegg, I discovered affordable high-performance DDR4 RAM at a very low price. I also found some budget-friendly DDR5 kits, though they’re currently out of stock. Should I hold off for the DDR5 models or settle for the 4000 MHz DDR4 and move on? Keep in mind I’m targeting an i9 12900K. The DDR4 link is here: https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en/g-sk...6820374104&Description=ram&cm_re=ram-_-20-374-104-_-Product. The DDR5 link is: https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en/Prod...bo.4417078. I’m considering the DDR5 combo if it’s available, or just go with the DDR4.

Searching for affordable DDR5 RAM feels similar to hunting for budget GPUs, but no results are coming up.

Currently, DDR5 offers little advantage over Alder Lake. Several reviewers have compared them, and aside from decompression work, the results were almost identical. I’d prefer DDR4 instead.

DDR5 is out of stock and won't be produced much until next year. It's even more difficult to locate than graphics cards unless you're willing to pay high prices. If you're setting up a system now, consider using a DDR4 board.
