Hi everyone, my old computer was sitting in the basement, and I tried to get it running again. I installed Windows 10 on a random hard drive, but whenever I want to restart or boot it up, I’m forced to reset the BIOS using the pins because I keep seeing an error like this: "Chassis Intruded........Fatal error ...... System Halted." I checked the motherboard and found three pins labeled "CHASSIS" with a jumper on them. I experimented with the jumper positions, but nothing changed. Also, I couldn’t locate the chassis intrusion setting in the BIOS menu. I really need this issue fixed so I can overclock the PC without having to reset everything every time.
Only three pins appear in this sequence: 1-0-1-1 (one indicates a pin, zero means empty). I bypassed the last two since the jumper is just two-pin wide.
Most motherboards include a chassis intrusion jumper to alert you that the case remains open or someone has altered it. Without the BIOS password this isn't very useful. You can usually disable it through the BIOS settings or by adjusting the correct pins. For more details, check the support page at https://www.asus.com/dk/support/FAQ/1010923/. This feature often replaced older key lock mechanisms on pre-ATX models. Refer to your manual to identify which pins need to be connected together, or search for the corresponding setting in the BIOS.

Have you considered swapping out the CMOS battery? Given its age, it’s likely no longer functioning properly.
