Character actions and Discord interruptions Audio glitches during gameplay
Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I've been noticing occasional freezing in League of Legends where my Discord audio disappears completely and my character freezes as well. However, the in-game animations—like orbs spinning around me—keep going until they briefly freeze a few seconds later. After several tests, I think the issue might be related to my Wi-Fi connection. I'm considering upgrading my internet setup by getting new Ethernet cables or purchasing additional TP-Link links. I've tried various troubleshooting steps: reinstalling and updating NVIDIA drivers using DDU, running Cinebench, doing a Windows memtest, completing OCCT benchmarks, and even reinstalling League of Legends and the anti-cheat software. I also checked the Wi-Fi drivers in Device Manager to ensure they weren't disabling power-saving features. This problem started after my boyfriend replaced my GPU with his own older model, which also required swapping my PCIE card for a TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus. My PC specs are: Ryzen 5 7500F, 32GB 5200MHz DDR5 RAM, AORUS 3070ti, Corsair RM850, and an MSI Pro A620M-E power supply. I appreciate any advice you can offer. As you can see at the 28-second mark, the Discord sound cuts out while animations remain unaffected.
Main problem is linked to Discord, leading to internet outages. Remove unused or unnecessary servers in Discord, then uninstall it. Press Win + R, type "appdata\Roaming\Discord\Data", navigate to Roaming, and delete the Discord folder. Reinstall Discord. Adjust settings to only download pictures when viewing. This should resolve the issue.
Being on Ethernet could affect performance. Your own PC works fine, but your boyfriend's does. I'll try it after work. Thanks!
It works seamlessly on both wired and wireless connections. The Wi-Fi tends to recover more quickly after a disconnection or reset compared to the wired setup, which means the issue might continue unnoticed.
The situation came down to troubles with the TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus AX1800. After reading a suggestion on Reddit about modifying XYZ in the driver settings, I opted to skip it and simply connect an Ethernet cable. The stable pings via CMD resolved all freezes.
