Hello, I'm working on setting up a dual system with an Intel CPU and a Threadripper processor. The Windows 10 OS is installed on an SSD connected to an Alienware motherboard. I'm curious if it's feasible to remove the SSD and install it on another motherboard without any modifications. Since I've performed a factory reset, the system starts from scratch during boot.

You may require updated bios, otherwise it should be fine.

Windows 10 can indeed be installed on that system. There might be some compatibility challenges switching between Intel and AMD, but I managed it successfully. However, there have been instances where it didn’t work at all, making it a risky attempt. I recommend giving it a try. For more frequent installations, setting up a dual-boot on the boot drive would be a better approach. This matters because I’m unfamiliar with needing such a setup, and it could affect stability or ease of use.

Would you need to create a fresh boot disk when switching to a new MB?

It shouldn't be an issue because the BIOS is already installed on the motherboard.

Yes, generally but I require additional details.

I'm removing my 9th generation Core i7 9700 from my Alienware R8, along with Windows 10 on a M.2 SSD. I intend to install the CPU and SSD into a case similar to the Phantom Echo Pro 2. The Intel CPU, SSD, and OS will be placed on an M.2 motherboard. My main worry was whether I need to make any changes if I simply swap the SSD from one MB to another.

In that scenario it's just an MB switch; you might need to install some drivers, but otherwise everything should work fine.
