Hello everyone, I'm considering switching the power supply for my HP Pavilion TP01-3003w. I have a 4-pin CPU and a 4-pin motherboard power connection. How can I work around this? Can I use another 4-pin from the CPU power? Is it possible to use the +4 pin on my 24-pin connector? Also, can I use the PWRCMD cable with this setup? Please advise.

The issue with proprietary parts is unclear to me. I've encountered adapters for standard ATX power supplies that fit HP motherboards, but there are many variations. It's hard to know if they'll work properly. From my experience, the cost of a full system and warranty service is reasonable, but I prefer avoiding HP's prebuilt units for personal use. You might want to check if it was a direct purchase from HP.
