Hey there, so I just set up a new PC with a Ryzen 5 5500 32GB RAM, 3600MHz, an RX 9060 XT graphics card, and 16GB of Corsair 650W power supply. I bought a Ryzen 7 5700X on the marketplace, telling the seller it was brand new and single-use. After checking the chip, I didn’t see any bent pins. The issue seems to be that when I spin up all the fans, everything looks fine but no video output appears. Also, when I boot with the old chip, the RGB syncs up instantly without needing to log in to Windows, but it doesn’t work the same way with the 5700X. I’m wondering what my next steps should be and if there’s something obvious I’m overlooking. My motherboard is an ASUS Prime B550M-A WiFi II, and the RAM is 32GB OLI. I’ve tried speeds from 2166 to 3200MHz.

Checked if the processor functioned properly prior to purchase. The vendor offered no additional documentation beyond stating limited usage. This appears to be a non-working unit.

You might be able to update your BIOS, but the 5700X should still work with the original BIOS version. It’s worth checking a repair shop to verify it. I worry you might have been misled into buying a faulty CPU. Since your system uses an AM4 socket, things are generally simple and you shouldn’t have any compatibility issues once your 5500 is already functioning well.

I'm not sure about the details, but it seems the 5700x is compatible with newer BIOS versions post-2022.

The 5500 and 5700x work because they share the same BIOS minimum version: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...-A-WIFI-II

I haven't visited a Micro Center personally, but from what I've watched on YouTube, they provide various services such as BIOS flashing and technical support. They might also have a CPU testing option available.
