Hi!
I bought a prebuilt computer with a 1TB M.2 2230 drive. It has space for two more drives, and I planned to upgrade them to 2TB units. After installing the first new drive in the empty slot, can I transfer the system from the 1TB drive to that one so I can swap out the old drive for the larger one? Thanks a lot for your help!

You may utilize Samsung's proprietary Data Migration Software to duplicate the existing 1TB storage to the upgraded 2TB device - https://semiconductor.samsung.com/us/con...ort/tools/

Assuming Samsung's Data Migration tool functions like Macrium Reflect, follow these steps:
). Insert the new 2TB storage device into the computer.
). Power on the machine and boot from the 1TB drive.
). Download and install the Data Migration application.
). Launch the program.
). Select the source drive you wish to clone, such as the 1TB drive.
). Pick the destination drive, which will be the new 2TB device.
). Verify that the source and destination drives are correctly identified; incorrect selection may erase data.
). Begin the cloning process, which typically lasts 10 to 30 minutes.
). Once the cloning is done, turn off the computer.
). Take out the original (source) drive from the system, ensuring you don’t restart with both drives connected. Windows might place the new partition on the wrong device.
). Power up the machine again.
). If successful, the BIOS should recognize the drive swap and boot from the 2TB storage.
). Alternatively, you may need to manually adjust the BIOS settings to set the new drive as the boot disk.
). Upon launching Windows, confirm that all applications are functioning properly on the new 2TB drive.
). If any software fails to operate, reinstall it. Usually, the cloning is accurate.
). Power down the system and reinstall the 1TB drive if you wish to erase its data before using it for storage.
). Restart the computer and ensure it boots into the new 2TB drive (drive CSmile.
). If the original 1TB drive reappears as Drive C, adjust the BIOS settings to prioritize the 2TB drive first, then the 1TB.
). Task complete. Success!
