Changing from TUF B550 Gaming Pro to Crosshair VIII Hero is a different experience.
Hi everyone, I've set up with a Ryzen 9 5900X, TUF B550 gaming pro, HyperX Fury Beast 32GB 3600Mhz RAM with overclocking to 3666Mhz and tighter timings (CL16). After completing all core optimizations, I reached OC speeds between 4.7-4.9Ghz. With the AiO Arctic Luqid Freezer II 240, CPU temperatures should stay around 85-88°C during Cinebench R23. I'm considering upgrading my motherboard to an Asus Rog Crosshair VIII Hero. Is it worth it? Will the performance gain be significant? Thanks in advance.
When offered at no cost and you don’t mind wasting time, it’s actually the superior choice. In reality, performance remains consistent whether you’re using Crosshair or TUF. Memory overclocking could differ slightly, but only become noticeable when stressing single-rank memory in 2:1 mode—then Crosshair might reach 4666 while TUF stays nearer to 4400. For a synchronized FCLK setup like a daily system, both boards will function identically with no observable difference.
