Changing from PCIe 4.0 to 3.0 in BIOS may affect performance depending on your system and configuration.
I own a Ryzen 3700X and Radeon 5700 XT built into an Asus TUF Gaming x570. I recently purchased a VR headset HP Reverb G2, but it’s not working smoothly—audio drops constantly, especially with the right speaker. I read some Reddit tips suggesting changing all PCIe lanes from 4.0 to 3.0 in the BIOS. I’m worried this might hurt my GPU or SSD performance. How significant is the difference between PCIe 3.0 and 4.0? Will it really affect my setup with these components?
Most GPUs aren't handling that much data right now, but it could become a bigger concern later when using direct storage. You're safe for now, and you can revert if needed.
