I opted to adjust the BIOS for ReBAR functionality. However, the system won’t start and there’s no display output. I set ReBAR to enabled and activated the "above 4G memory/cryptocurrency mining..." option. Then I turned on game boost in the BIOS. After a reboot, the PC still fails to boot even through the BIOS menu. The motherboard shows a VGA light indicating no video output detected. I removed the CMOS battery and reinserted it while power was off, but the issue persisted. Finally, I swapped the GPU to a different PCIe slot, yet it didn’t resolve the problem. [now back to original slot]
I think your boot device is configured in legacy mode. Legacy and ReBar can't work together, which isn't ideal since it won’t even start into BIOS. Could you clarify what you're looking for? What does the manual request?
I adjusted the boot configuration to UEFI. The indicator light is red and steady—some information I discovered about it: VGA LED: This light connects to the graphics card or display output. If it remains on, it suggests an issue with the graphics card or its link to the motherboard.
It depends on whether the system is set up for UEFI or legacy mode. Regardless, if the issue persists, you can try booting from BIOS and check if the GPU affects the process. If the GPU is suspected, disconnect it and connect the video cable to the motherboard—PC should then boot using the integrated graphics.
Aight got my G's n X's mixed up. I mean you can try to boot without the GPU and see if it boots at all. If it does and doesn't throw a motherboard error then GPU's to blame. Then really you only have a spare option of swapping out a different GPU and see the picture it displays.
The battery lasted for a short time before needing replacement. Simply removing and reinserting it doesn’t resolve the CMOS issue.
It seems the BIOS settings might be causing issues. I double-checked the BIOS and flashed it, but the problem persists. Adjusting the GAME BOOST didn’t help, and now I’m avoiding those settings altogether—flashing the BIOS worked this time, so I’ll stick to that.
Game Boost functions as an auto overclocker for your system. With your ASUS board, enabling auto OC will make all drives nearly invisible except during boot. Restoring Game Boost to off or normal settings will reset any changes made by the auto process. Keep the overclockers disabled until you're sure everything is stable.
