Changes in Base clock (DMI/PEG) effects
Hello everyone,
I've been experimenting with optimising my current CPU overclock (Core i5 4670K) for about two weeks. After that time, I realized my CPU struggles to hit 4.5 Ghz.
Despite this, it remains stable at that speed.
I'm trying to bring the overclock down slightly—targeting around 4480Mhz—to improve stability.
I've been adjusting the base clock and multipliers, but I've also noticed changes in the DMI/PEG clock.
I have a limited understanding of what this adjustment does, so I'm curious: will modifying the DMI/PEG clock affect anything beyond the CPU and RAM?
Could altering it impact my system in any way?
Thank you in advance!
My specs:
CPU: Core i5 4670K (@4.4 Ghz, 1.264v, 4.3 Ghz cache)
CPU cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer 240
Motherboard: Asus Maximus vi Gene
RAM: Corsair XMS3 @1600Mhz
PSU: Seasonic SS-600 ET
Modifying the BCLK on that gen mobo will also influence your GPU.
