I experienced a complete system failure, which led me to replace the motherboard, CPU, and now the M.2 NVMe drive. After reinstalling the old operating system, my Wi-Fi isn't appearing. Should I start from scratch with Windows 11... and then worry about restoring my previous Windows 10 setup? Is there a problem with my Wi-Fi card on that board? Why wouldn't it show up? I've read forum discussions about adapters, but all the troubleshooting steps in the command prompt didn't work. In settings... Network and Internet: Wi-Fi isn't listed as an option. Motherboard: B460M DS3H AC. CPU: Intel Core i7-10700. Drive: SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe 4.0. Appreciate any advice.

When starting Ubuntu Live, it may appear on a different motherboard model. Consider reinstalling or resetting Windows if needed.

Shoots! Just checked...
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B46...-rev-10#kf
It doesn’t have wifi, but the other version does. Cool!

Lol, guess I’ll be using a direct Ethernet line from my modem.
Can I connect two Ethernet lines from the modem? And still have regular Ethernet for Google Nest?
Right now I’m using one Ethernet to the son’s computer via Router Google Nest, and everything else is on Wi-Fi (*the nest).
I think I tried connecting the son’s PC directly to the modem (Ethernet) before linking it to the modem via the router (Google Nest), but that didn’t work.

same motherboard, but differs in version (v2) which lacks the wifi card... the previous one did.

It's a typical error. Wired tends to perform better, offering speed and lower latency, though a USB WiFi adapter can be used as an alternative.

I used an A7000 Netgear wifi adapter on another computer... Connected it and it's functioning perfectly. Wow, I could probably keep it that way. Thanks.
