The GPU isn't working properly. It started acting up right after I shared this post. The delay in loading stays long, which lowers the frame rate significantly. A bad cable isn't responsible for the big drop in FPS. Essentially, it's a new GPU issue. Previously there were artifacts, now they're happening more often. The top screen line appears briefly and then disappears. On the desktop or in games, performance seems unaffected by system load. I've noticed a thicker cable connection at the bottom of the screen, similar to what was on my old card. The cable itself looks fine, but the case doesn't allow full HDMI cable clearance. This might be the cause. Not a failing GPU, but definitely a cable problem. I'm not sure and don't like hearing about a dead GPU after a year. Thanks for your help.

The noise you hear might indicate a faulty connection, possibly due to a bad cable.
