I use the Samsung EVO as my main system. They confirmed everything works fine. My M.2 only holds game files, while my cousin’s RAM functions properly. I’m unsure if this setup is beneficial, but whenever it freezes, the RGB fans either freeze completely or speed up dramatically. Sometimes they stay frozen without full RPM.
Learn the steps to set up a partition on your M.2 drive. It was previously your main storage device and showed identical issues before you upgraded to the EVO.
Do you oppose creating a Linux bootable? Pop OS offers a Windows feel and launches directly from a USB without installation. I’d try downloading it to a USB, booting from there, and checking for crashes. If it holds, install it and test a game known to fail often. Riot won’t run on Linux, so look for alternatives. Should it still crash, the problem may be hardware or related to your system settings. If you have an OW2 or Blizzard account, it should function. Most single-player titles should work too. https://pop.system76.com
I can also attempt that, yes. How do you transfer OW2 to the Linux USB drive?
I wouldn't be concerned right away. Can you make Windows secure with just YouTube or a browser-based method? If possible, try that first. After that, we'll examine increasing system demands. If you begin thinking about installing a game, it would be better to set up Pop on its own partition on one of your drives. Then you'd run the game via Linux instead of Windows.
The system becomes unresponsive when launching certain applications at startup or during password entry.
I’d just disconnect the USB and perform simple tasks to check if it freezes. The power supply looks solid. I don’t know the exact model, but all gold units are rated at tier A on this list. I wouldn’t assume anything without confirming. https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ What I missed was your hardware setup—specifically how many cables connect the graphics card to the power supply? EVGA offers three 8-pin connectors. Ideally, each would have its own cable back to the PSU with no adapters. One set of pigtails means two cables returning shouldn’t cause trouble unless the PSU is extremely sensitive. If you have a third cable going to that unit but not for your Bronze model, I’d test it too.
