Recently I upgraded my PC to Windows 10 Creators Update after a long time skipping it. I noticed the Task Manager now organizes processes by program instead of showing individual tasks. If I attempt to end a process, it ends all related ones. This is frustrating because individual Chrome tabs consume a lot of memory, and I used to like stopping processes that used up a lot of RAM. The new interface feels quite unexpected, and searching online leads to confusing steps for getting back to the old manager. I prefer the previous Task Manager because it lets me see detailed usage stats like CPU, network, GPU, and hard drive. I still dislike the recent CPU update that groups everything together, which is disappointing. I appreciate the old manager for its clarity but wish it were easier to revert.

Check the detail section and see if it matches previous versions. Alternatively, open Resource Monitor for comparison. No updates since XP or earlier were applied.

The detail section doesn't identify the exact process. It's unclear whether it refers to a single tab or the whole browser, making it hard to tell. This could lead to unintentionally closing everything, which isn't ideal.

Screenshot? The details reveal all the steps and IDs. It seems Chrome has reduced the number of processes.

Today is the moment. Attempting to remove just one causes the whole browser to crash. I don’t have a screenshot before the update since I assumed it wouldn’t happen.

Navigate to the details section, which displays each process individually.

doesn't display usage stats for components like cpu, disk, network, etc. Also doesn't clarify what you ultimately end up losing, though that's just personal.

The CPU usage is expressed as a percentage, indicating the proportion of processing power being utilized.
