I'm using the Wasabi Mango UHD430 with 4k, 120hz HDR support, but my monitor only accepts 10bit colour for proper HDR at 96hz or lower. At 120hz it works in HDR but uses 8bit colour. Final Fantasy sets it to 120hz and doesn't appear to let me adjust it in-game or via .ini files. Any suggestions?

Adjust the custom resolution and refresh rate in the Nvidia control panel and implement the changes.

Yes, that's exactly how things are with my friend. I've even attempted to boost the refresh rate to around 62hz, but I lose the 10-bit resolution and in NVPanel it only shows 8bit. As soon as I revert to 60hz, the 10-bit functionality returns and works properly instead of going back to 8bit. Maybe the monitor you own is one that's been overclocked for its refresh rate?

The refresh rate in Windows is set to 96, but the game doesn't allow changing the refresh rate.

I don't want to run it at 120, I just want to run it at 96 or 60 so I can have the 10bit colour, but there's no option to reduce the refresh rate in game

games don't offer that feature, but you need to adjust the refresh rate in windows using nvpanel. as jurrunio mentioned, go to nvpanel, change the solution, and then click the customize button to set your desired refresh rate and resolution.

Reason it jumps to 120hz is because it isn't using the correct resolution and refresh you select. Before launching the game, you need to adjust the resolution to what you set and also configure the custom refresh. If you're using a 1440p desktop, before starting the game go through the settings to change the resolution and select the appropriate refresh rate. Your not having an issue—this is just a joke. Just remember to update your desktop to Final Fantasy resolution and refresh in NVPanel for a smooth experience. Good luck!

Well pretty much every game I've ever played allows me to set the refresh rate either in game or in .ini files.
Making a custom resolution will not make any difference, as the game is detecting the highest refresh rate available and using that - which is 120hz, which does not use 10bit colour - so the only way to make it work is to force it to run at a lower refresh rate - this works fine in BF5, in Hitman 2, in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in Forza Horizon 4, in Star Wars Battlefront 2, even in PUBG!
I'm just asking if there is a way to change the refresh rate for Final Fantasy XV, or a way to force it.

I understand, my friend... The issue is that I've never played FF before, so I'm not familiar with the game or whether an ini file is involved. You'll likely get more replies and probably a reply from someone who plays FF, so keep trying. It's really sorry I couldn't help you.
