I attempted using device management in Windows 10, but the entered number isn’t displayed when I run CMD. To modify your MAC address, you’ll need to access network settings directly through the command prompt or use built-in tools like Network Connections.

You're asking about modifying your MAC address. The reason behind this often comes down to network settings or security needs. MAC addresses are assigned by manufacturers and are fixed in the device's firmware. Changing them can help avoid conflicts or meet specific requirements. For virtual adapters, you can adjust the MAC manually, though hardware NICs usually don't allow such changes. The main point is understanding why you need this adjustment.

Well... I'm trying to scan a QR code via WhatsApp so I can use it in Chrome, but there's a limit. I only need this for the company. We have 100+ employees, and we are using an Android emulator on the same PC. However, we are attempting to read the QR code via AnyDesk. I'm pretty sure it's the MAC address since the VPN doesn't work.

It seems like the MAC address might be the issue, not the MAC itself. It could also be a unique device identifier.

I’m not sure how to proceed, but if it’s WhatsApp, it seems unrelated to networking, which is why the device ID suggestion came up.

The MAC address can be modified through Device Manager or network card settings, but this doesn't affect WhatsApp since it relies on a different process that doesn't use the MAC address. On Intel cards it's referred to as "Locally administered address," while Realtek uses a different naming system. A reboot might be necessary to activate it properly, or you may need to disable and re-enable the Ethernet card. You input the 12-character hexadecimal value.

Thank you for your message. I've already attempted the steps, but with my TP-Link setup, the naming doesn't match. Even after the change, no update appears when checking via CMD. It seems the issue persists. I found your point intriguing. How can we resolve this without causing any problems? We're a genuine business; we're not associated with spam. We just need to complete our tasks.

It functions properly, yet the network interface requires a restart—either through a reboot or by temporarily turning off and then re-enabling the Ethernet card.
