I am trying to run the TAILS OS off of a USB drive, but I can't get it to boot. I tried all of the options listed for booting, but they all just booted windows. I also tried changing the boot priority, but there was no option for a removable drive. All of the tutorials I have found so far say to change setting that by bios doesn't even have. It’s a USB-HDD that requires starting from a USB drive. Also, confirm you created the bootable USB properly? Otherwise, your BIOS might default to Windows.

I went through the instructions on the tails download page, but I suspect something is wrong. I installed a tool to check if the USB could boot, yet I keep receiving an error saying I need to insert a USB. The device also fails to appear in the file explorer even though it produces sound. I've tried reinstalling the ISO, but it hasn't helped.
