Hi, you're dealing with a dual-HDD setup where one drive © holds your Windows files and the other (D) contains the Master Boot Record. Fresh Windows 10 was installed years ago, but you're experiencing issues where only one OS version boots correctly. You need to replace the damaged D drive without formatting C, but you're unsure if it's possible to move just the MBR from D to C.

You cannot copy the MBR, but you should be able to use the Windows installer to fix it and place it on the C drive. Remove D, keeping only C, then insert the installer and choose repair.

The repair will only inspect and fix any issues, leaving everything else unchanged.

It didn't function properly. After choosing "start up repair," it moves through diagnosis, attempts repair, and restarts, but nothing updates. Selecting "reset" shows the disk is locked—unlock it and try again.
