Change in latency after replacing the motherboard
Hey there, I'm trying to figure out something that's really puzzling me. My motherboard stopped working, so I swapped it out. Everything else seems normal except for my internet, which keeps dropping. I've tried a bunch of fixes—clearing IP addresses, resetting the router, powering down and rebooting adapters, updating drivers, etc. But the main problem is online gaming. Even simple tasks like opening a webpage cause my latency to spike dangerously, and it only stabilizes when I close other apps. My room mate has a solid connection, so I think this might be specific to mine. I'm pretty sure it's not a home network issue, and I haven't reached out to my ISP yet. Any advice would be super helpful—I feel really stuck with these network and connection issues!
After a short 24 hours, the problem has resurfaced once more... It seems I didn’t upgrade my Ethernet adapter to the right version, though the fix has been applied already. I even tried the command again post-update, but it still didn’t work. Might this be linked to the motherboard itself? Since my old model was an X470 and my current one is B450, I’m wondering if I’ve accidentally downgraded myself.
