I work with a useful tool named fences, which allows you to design squares for placing icons. These squares can remain anchored to pixels or adjust based on screen width and height ratios, especially when resolution changes often. It also supports automatic hiding of boxes until they are clicked. Unfortunately, it's a paid application costing around £8 or more.
