You've likely heard about the early access launch of H1Z1 on Steam. Many people think the team misled players about pay-to-win mechanics and are now offering refunds to fix their errors. [Link to article] I know some friends who bought it and enjoy playing, but honestly, the game really catches my attention. I don’t want to wait for it to become free-to-play and would prefer to purchase it. Yet, backing the developers feels morally wrong to me. I don’t want to support them if they don’t show empathy for the community and miss out on what seems like a great experience despite the situation. My options are: -pardon them and trust they can turn things around later, hoping the rest of the game makes up for it -refuse to back them until they demonstrate care for players and give up what looks promising What do you think?
It doesn't look like a great game, it looks like every other zombie survival game ever.
Absolutely, the experience feels great and the visuals are compelling. It reminds me of Telltale's Walking Dead blended with DayZ in a vibrant open-world setting—something distinct. As someone who enjoys survival games, I’d appreciate more variety. DayZ is becoming outdated, so I’m considering Dying Light. I’d also love to see more player interaction, which is a big part of what I value in DayZ (especially the RP server) and Arma 3.
Usually it works. I enjoy the game, but I don’t like the creator. My opinion on the "buy airdrop" feature is unclear.
