I'm using an R5 at 4.1GHz with 16GB Corsair Vengeance LX PS3 at 3000MHz on a MSI B450i gaming plus AC. I attempted to overclock the memory pass 3000 at a higher voltage, but the screen went undetected during Cinebench R20. Anyone knows why?

The most effective approach is to reset the processor to factory defaults and perform memory overclocking independently. This might help identify if the issue lies with the CPU or memory, as a combined overclock could be unstable. Testing both components separately can clarify the root cause.

I tried it and the CPU at stock settings runs smoothly, but combining both at once doesn't work regardless of the voltage I adjust.

Some adjustments might make a difference. Bios updates aren’t always prioritized, but older versions usually support better memory overclocking for earlier Ryzen models. A small increase in SoC voltage could stabilize memory, though it requires careful handling. On my Ryzen 3000 chip, the auto voltage was too high initially; a slight reduction improved stability. Timings might need tweaking or swapping to 2T after settling. After that, run multiple memtest86 runs—typically eight passes ensures reliable memory health.

the device came with a fairly new BIOS, so I’m not sure yet. i’ll check the update notes, examine the SoC voltage, and see if memory timing works. i noticed how to adjust them but don’t know how to loosen them. would really appreciate a short guide if you can.

I don’t use M.UI or MSI motherboards anymore; since the K7 era, tutorials elsewhere would be helpful as I’m not very familiar with their interface.
