Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a frustrating problem where my games frequently freeze for a brief period—usually 1-2 seconds—before resuming, and occasionally the entire system crashes, forcing a Windows restart.

My computer specifications are as follows:

* Motherboard: Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5
* Processor: Ryzen 7 1700X
* Graphics Card: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1080
* Memory: G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200
* Power Supply: Corsair 850W
* Storage: Samsung EVO 850 (250GB)
* Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM

Here’s what I've attempted to resolve the issue:

* Fresh Windows installation
* Updated drivers
* Disabled Windows Defender
* Using Ryzen power profile
* Testing games on both hard drives – freezing occurs on both, but the mechanical drive exhibits longer freeze times.
* Monitoring temperatures—CPU and GPU remain consistently around 60 degrees Celsius.
* The problem occurs with all games I play.
* Updated motherboard BIOS to enable XMP for optimal performance, but the freezing persists.
* I’ve encountered this issue on a previous system without ever finding a solution.
* No overclocking is applied, and memory has been thoroughly tested using Memtest86 with a full pass.
* The freezes seem linked to my hard drive activity, as GPU usage drops significantly during these moments before returning to normal.
* I suspect a hard drive issue, but it shouldn't cause problems on an SSD.

I’m at a loss and unable to enjoy my PC games, which is incredibly disappointing 😢.

If you’re running games stored on your solid-state drive, have you attempted to move them to your hard disk drive to check if it functions without issues?

Affirmative, I have attempted that during the fifth troubleshooting step, and it remains unsuccessful. This issue occurs with both drives.
