Certain games show minimal CPU and GPU usage while others do not.
I've experienced problems where my games don't make full use of my GPU and CPU. In Tarcov and GTA5 I consistently see around 4-5 frames regardless of settings, while my CPU usage stays low (0-10%) and GPU usage remains steady. In Warzone I see 144fps at high settings with only 50% CPU load and 80-100% GPU usage. Other titles like Rocket League, Overwatch, League of Legends, and NFS run smoothly. I've tried basic fixes such as updating drivers, BIOS, disabling RAM boosting, and reinstalling games. I've also changed power plans, GPU settings to maximum power, and even updated drivers. My PC is brand new except for the GPU, which I recently got. I ran GPU drivers last night but they didn't resolve the issue. Temperatures stay low and consistent, yet performance drops to 4-5 frames. It seems like the games aren't utilizing my hardware properly. I'm puzzled since my PC handles these titles easily, but it appears to ignore them. I suspect the problem occurs in CPU-heavy games, which is confusing. I'm wondering if someone can help me understand what's going on?
I’m facing the same issue. I get low FPS in certain titles (Tarkov, Witcher 3, Destiny 2) while others run smoothly (The Division 2, Battlefield 2042). I’ve tried similar fixes but nothing worked. It seems my setup matches the motherboard and graphics card – could that be the cause? I’m not trying to take over your message, but my specs are similar. If anyone has any tips, it would be great.
Great to hear! Are your GPU and CPU stats consistently low in these titles? It might help to check if the motherboard is affecting performance.
I resolved my problem! Do you happen to work remotely with Citrix Workplace? An update broke performance for games using DirectX 11 like Tarcov and GTAV. If you're still experiencing issues, I can assist further and look into it more. Fortunately, I can simply remove the program since I no longer need it, but you can find instructions on reinstalling it without the problematic feature at the bottom of this thread if required.
Result! I removed Citrix and the troublesome games worked without issues—I followed the CMD prompt reinstall instructions from another post, and they continued to function smoothly. That’s a relief. Among all the possible issues I imagined, this one seems unlikely. Thanks for revisiting and sharing the details here. Cheers!
If someone encounters this discussion, Citrix Workspace may interfere with games using DirectX 11 and earlier. It leads to excessive CPU and GPU activity, dropping performance to 5-10 frames per second. Remove the software, restart the computer, and reinstall following these instructions: 1. Delete Citrix Workspace and download the installer again from their site. 2. Launch the command prompt via Start > CMD. 3. Navigate to the specified path with the given parameters, ensuring you replace the directory name with the actual installer location. This process installs Citrix Workspace without the Workspace Hub, which contains the problematic Citrix Casting driver. Hey, thanks for setting up your account! I've been having trouble with this too, and it's making things worse by causing games to lag when you try to run them.
