Certain data flows are being prevented on the Aquantia NIC in the TRX40 Zenith II Extreme.
Hello, I'm facing an unusual problem where certain network traffic doesn't reach when connected to my LAN using the 10G Aquantia NIC on my Zenith II Extreme. The Intel NIC functions correctly, but applications like Overwatch and Steam fail to log in and remain stuck on the login screen. I've reinstalled OW, but it doesn't work on the Aquantia network. After switching to the Intel NIC, everything works fine—browsing, VPN, TeamViewer, etc. I've updated drivers, reset network settings, installed a fresh Windows copy on a new SSD, and even changed the BIOS. Still no solution. Could you help? I don't have clear guidance right now. System specs: https://valid.x86.fr/sitl14
Hello, I mentioned trying several BIOS versions, including the newest one. I searched for firmware for the AQC-107 but only found drivers. No firmware updates appear on Asus or AquaTech sites.
checked the firmware update on Marvell's site. upgraded from 3.1.98 to 3.2.100 but nothing changed. LATER decided to install the driver from Marvell's page, which fixed it. The ASUS and Aquantia drivers didn't work, but the one on Marvell's site did. That was frustrating. Thanks for your help.
their setup seems unusual. it appears wifi needs to be disabled before installing windows.
It looks like things might be tough, but it shouldn't be too hard. I own an Intel X550-T2 at work, but I’m avoiding that area right now due to concerns like COVID, unrest, theft, and overzealous officers. So I’ll have to make do with it for now. Gigabyte lets you install an Intel T550 directly onto the board at this price, but I dislike their BIOS settings. I’m really caught between options.
I've never encountered anything like this before. That thing never got fixed.
I thought the issue was resolved, but it reappeared about two days later. The 1Gb Intel NIC is functioning properly; both Intel X550-T2 and X540-T2 in PCI-E slots are working fine. I replaced the CPU with a Threadripper 3970X and the same results occurred. After a fresh installation with a new CPU, over the Aquantia LAN, browsing and downloading appear normal, though some apps like Blizzard can launch but fail to download anything. The origin client cannot even log in. AFP and FTP connections experience significant delays and random timeouts. Using the Intel NIC shows no issues. I’m really not interested in disassembling it or sending it back for replacement.
the NIC on my X399 based NAS is experiencing stability issues with file transfers varying widely between 300MB/s and 900MB/s. zero consistency was observed. my employer provided me with two Intel X550-T NICs, which resolved the problem. ideally, I would have chosen the Gigabyte TRX40 board, offering an integrated Intel X550-T2 NIC and a free M.2 4x4 PCIe card for SSDs, along with improved VRM performance. a valuable lesson learned.
