I saved CCleaner from FileHippo recently, but my antivirus became overwhelmed. Even though the site is now offline, if you've installed CCleaner in the past week, it might be safer to remove it and use antivirus protection instead.

The title caught my attention immediately, sparking curiosity about what’s being discussed without needing any cleaning tools.

I'm really glad you've had it set up for more than five months already! It's strange for a trusted tool like CCleaner to show up with viruses.

CCleaner is highly regarded and generally reliable. It probably originated from a compromised copy server.

I've always had no issues with CCleaner over the past five years, unless it starts acting up as a virus. In that case, I always download it directly from Piriform instead of using any third-party sources.

Never experienced issues with cleaner. Removes a huge number of unnecessary files. Also, I always install updates directly from piriform, not from third-party sources.
