Caution for Buyers: Amazon Prime Canada 5800x
Amazon handles refunds well. They’re likely to accept your claim without question. Third-party vendors can also use Prime benefits. This is possible since they store their items in Amazon’s warehouse. Prime speed doesn’t guarantee better sellers—it just speeds up delivery. You might even wonder if an Amazon worker swapped the CPU. That’s just how things are today. Everyone seems focused on winning over others.
It seems someone upgraded the device from a 3800X and then sent it back with the original model inside for a refund. Unless the person handling the return was careful, it's easy to overlook. You just look at it, notice a CPU labeled 800X in the box, and put it away again.
Thanks for the input. It seems YoungBlade might be correct, though the situation appears quite unusual with such a significant profit margin.
This suggests sabotage could have played a role. There was a time when workers intentionally hid sandwiches in car interiors as a protest against the company. During WWII, Belgium manufactured weapons for Germany but were frequently and heavily damaged, making them unreliable. The tale of Schindler also stands out—he made ammunition that failed. That's quite harsh, but understand! I mostly rely on Amazon, though I've tried local sellers before. The price was pretty steep. I mainly bought hardware through Newegg.ca during 2020/2021. Everything went smoothly except for that one open box board I got. No big issues there. Shipping from Amazon is definitely quicker.
