Cat6 to Cat5 connection
Cat6 to Cat5 connection
I'm not home to provide you with pictures, but I'll do my best to explain. Right after the entrance in my apartment there's a big socket in the wall, witb the following cables coming out: 3 optical fibers (1 for each ISP that offers services in my building) 2 cat6 cables 1 tv cable. When ISP comes to install the internet, they put the optical fiber connector at the end of their respective fiber and plug it into a special wifi that they bring. Into that wifi's lan ports I need to insert the 2 cat 6 cables. Also into the wifi I need to insert the TV cable because cable is also served throught the fiber. The socket in the wall I spoke earlier is big, it's like 20cm/20cm, there's no way I can put a wall plate on it. The other end of the cat6 is already done, the builder installed wall plates like you indicated, so that end is ready to go. The only reason why I need the lan is because I have a pc and it doesn't have wifi, it's also in the farthest room so wifi signal is not extraordinary. Here's my wifi heatmap, wifi is on bottom left, computer is on bottom right
