Hi, I understand your situation. The builder put CAT6 FTP cables inside the walls in your new apartment, but you're having trouble installing a RJ45 CAT6 head on your PC. Your Wi-Fi signal is weak, and you're trying to connect two more cables that keep getting tangled. The ISP suggested using pre-installed connections, but they only provided one cable and can't do it for you. You're looking for a practical fix using hardware or renovation supplies that are more common in Romanian stores, not just specialized networking shops. Let me know if you'd like some suggestions!

The optimal approach is to obtain the proper crimpable ends or use the coupler. This method isn't typically recommended for network cables. The Cat 6 models can be challenging, but it's manageable.

CAT6 connectors consist of two sections, and the internal section must securely hold the wires in position. Otherwise, the connection won’t function correctly. Avoid using these with network cabling; replace the connector and use the right tools. You don’t want unexpected network glitches or data loss because of a faulty circuit or insufficient shielding.

I purchased these items without the internal component. Can you locate the internal part on this platform? Here’s the link: https://www.dedeman.ro/bucuresti3

They mention CAT6, but it doesn't match the appearance you see. It seems to contain remnants of CAT5 connectors instead. This might explain why fitting them is challenging. The CAT6 cable doesn't fit standard CAT5 connectors. Since the inserts aren't visible on the site, it's possible they were sold incorrectly—though I can't confirm without having one.

I just checked them out. The cat5 connectors I've had for two years now have bigger holes and are zig-zagged. The cat6 ones are straight and narrower. Shouldn't it be the opposite? I didn't mix them up—I intentionally kept the cat6 in the bag.

They seem quite different from what I expected for CAT6.

Cat6 has various wire sizes available. It's important to align the end with the correct gauge. I've noticed awg22, awg23, awg24 and awg26 all comply with cat6 standards.

These appear to be a good Cat 6 adapter. They offer various connectors and include plastic components for organizing the cables.

The best approach is to mount an Ethernet port on the wall using special faceplates that fit specific Ethernet connectors. I’m not familiar with Romanian product names, so locating items in Romanian stores is challenging. You can search Amazon UK for “ethernet faceplate” and find options with pre-installed connectors. Some affordable choices are rated for Cat5e speeds, like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/rhinocables®-Et...00ESDRG2A/. Alternatively, look for faceplates that accept a standard “keystone” socket, which is also used in patch panels. Here’s an example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MainCore-Facepl...07DBT25YP/. On both products, you’ll need a punch-down tool to secure the wires. A suitable tool is available on Emag: https://www.emag.ro/instrument-punch-dow...DNBPT7MBM/. After that, you can use standard Ethernet cables from your computer’s network adapter to the wall port.
