Usually I'd support the idea of new developments on the way, but right now it doesn't feel like the best moment to comment. Intel has effectively reached the end of their outdated Skylake 14nm++ line, and the Ryzen 3000 series is nearly out of production. If six months ago I’d have suggested proceeding, I’d be holding my breath now since you already have a working machine.
