I'm where I stand now. I thought about upgrading my PSU for the future if it makes sense right away. I wasn't even aware I was on a dead end then, so appreciate the help.

your on the AM4 platform and they are now on the AM5 with the 7000 series ryzen chips.
still plenty of good performance out of the AM4 chips for sure. i'm running a 5900x myself and don't plan on needing a new one for a few years at least.
it's just that if you are happy with what you have, may as well save for a full upgrade with ddr5 ram and whatever is out next year or 2. you're obviously not one to stay on the latest and greatest considering your still on the 2600 cpu.
but to play devils advocate for the fun of it. the 5000 series chips are dirt cheap right now and if you go with one at this time and stay on it for a few years, then it is actually a bargain.
i went from a 3600x to the 5900x and can easily tell the difference, a 2600 to something in the 5000 series would be a very noticeable jump for you as well. (peer pressure, peer pressure, peer pressure) lol

I was nearly persuaded to upgrade my CPU now I'm fully committed. The only other thing I decided to upgrade was my PSU. Do you have any suggestions?

Actually, I believe I should choose the Corsair RMx 850W. DSzymborski recommends it. May I set two people as solutions?
