I changed my hardware into a new enclosure, but suddenly lost network and audio output. Windows indicated my Logitech surround system wasn’t connected. I bought an Ethernet card to fix it, yet relying on headphones instead of the full 5.1 surround feels disappointing. I removed the motherboard and verified there was no contact with the back causing a short. I found a greasy fingerprint on the back, cleaned it with alcohol pads, reinstalled everything, but still nothing worked. I was extremely careful during disassembly/reassembly and kept all components secure (thank you, Linus). My BIOS and Windows updates were current, along with the motherboard drivers. I reinstalled Realtek drivers and ensured all cables were properly plugged in and in the correct ports. I confirmed onboard sound was enabled in BIOS. What might have disrupted previously working sound and internet just by swapping the case? If you need more details, let me know. The motherboard should still be covered under warranty. DarkFlash Phantom case, Aurora DR12 Pro fans, x13 Logitech z5300e 5.1 surround, Pyle cube speakers, and Corsair K95 RGB Platinum. Also included Corsair MM800 Polaris, Void Pro USB headset, PicTek RGB Chroma Gaming Mouse with 10k LEDs. Added a network card after the swap but noticed no internet connection. Ethernet lights on port didn't activate on the motherboard. Concern about CPU not fully seated—likely not an issue.
