Case Open! Case Closed!
Case Open! Case Closed!
My issue is that I had to install a box fan in my office since my PC generates a lot of heat.
😉
My wife and I mainly use our computers in the evening, which lets us open windows for fresh air (and the fans help too).
I think I need improved cooling for my PC so it doesn’t blow hot air around as much. The temperature difference mentioned by the blackbird likely plays a role here. It should influence the room temperature.
My friends' computer slows down unless they open the side panel and put a fan blowing on the motherboard. I've experienced this in many games where he tells him to "hold on, I'm getting 8 fps, let me get the fan." It's happened before—last time even at a LAN party he brought the fan.

I think I need improved cooling for my PC so it doesn’t blow hot air as intensely. That 40 to 50°C temperature difference mentioned by the blackbird likely plays a role. It should influence the room temperature.
Haha, that's interesting
How small is that room?
Lol. Be cautious with those open cases, don't want any unwanted creatures sneaking into your PC =P.
It happened to my dad once, he was dealing with his computer and found some mice had gotten inside. They were tucked away in that nice cozy case, using wires for it.
IF your cooling gets better with an open side panel then I guess you have some general issue with your cooling solution. It should be the other way around...
If your PC stays cooler when the side is removed from the case, it suggests the case ventilation is very inadequate. While removing the side might seem like a good idea, there are likely many other valid reasons to keep the case closed. Running with the case open has probably more benefits than drawbacks. I’ve also noticed people doing this in cars, but that doesn’t mean I do it myself.
I had to replace my old Pentium D system, just near a turbofan or air conditioner unit.
Despite that, the CPU still got damaged.
Keep in mind, dust will be a problem.
Ensure your cabling stays organized, allowing front and side fans to draw air in while back and top fans expel it. Maintain proper airflow by using fans with higher CFM.
If you run the side open, it's probably best to just keep the whole setup on your desktop. You can also check your PC too! lol
