I was playing on a PC with no high load, but it suddenly stopped. Did I unplug the power and keep the power button on for 30 seconds? Nothing happened. The case fans were still running, and there was no display output from the CPU or graphics card. My motherboard model is H61-S, which has a standby feature for the mouse lights. It doesn’t seem like a motherboard issue. Updated: I cleaned the entire breadboard and everything worked again after 2 days. Then using a clear CMOS jumper resolved it. PC started working. Could someone help me understand what’s going on? Thanks.

what are your specifications? what power supply model do you have? do you have any additional components? can you connect another computer for testing or swapping parts? visually examine the motherboard for any signs of capacitor damage and check the GPU as well. the GPU fan should spin freely without resistance. unplug the device and remove the battery for a few minutes to reset the CMOS/BIOS. suddenly stops? screen freezes? hard reboot? power off?

Hello sir.
I have an antec 500 Ga H61m-s with an I5 2500 processor, Hyper T2, 1 GB RAM new, 2 GB old RAM, and everything is working fine except for a bit of mess in the PC. It shut off quickly without any noise or restart needed. When I press the power button, only the case fans work. The above issues have been noted.

is there a speaker linked to the 4 pin plug right above the Front Panel Connector? any speaker will suffice, with the first and last pins serving as the speaker terminals. the motherboard might be indicating the problem via beep codes.
the speaker is designated for diagnostics. if it’s present but no beeps occur, the system can’t complete the POST (Power On Self Test), pointing to RAM, CPU, or motherboard issues. I’m less concerned about the PSU since they typically reboot rather than shut down during failure.
this is why I inquired about connecting another computer. you could exchange power supplies and assess the PSU’s condition, then attempt to trigger a beep code by removing all RAM and trying to boot. the motherboard should respond with a beep through the connected speaker. if you can’t get a beep code, it suggests the motherboard is nonfunctional in this context. you’ll still need a reliable PSU for proper testing.

Hello sir,
My mobile is brand new, only two months old, and my PC is functioning properly. I ran some benchmarks to stress test my hardware, but there were no issues. Unfortunately, I don’t have a speaker. My RAM sticks are fine, as checked in a friend’s system. The computer works well, but it now shuts off twice automatically. The real concern is whether these two events might harm my PC. A blog mentioned residual energy; they tried disconnecting the power cable and holding the power button for 30 seconds, which resolved the issue. I’m worried about potential damage.
