Case fan setup
Case fan setup
Hey, I just bought a prebuilt from Cyberpower. I’ve been using a PC for a long time, but life got busy and I turned to console gaming because of how easy it was to set up and plug in. I wanted to try getting back into PC gaming with a prebuilt, hoping for a quick setup that worked smoothly. It’s been a good experience so far, no major problems.
The only thing that’s a bit confusing is the fan setup: three fans are exhausting, two are mounted on the CPU cooler and one is at the rear. Should I be worried about that?
For reference:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D idles around 35°C, max I’ve seen is 69°C.
GPU: MSI 4070 super idle at 30°C, max temp 70°C.
Temperatures look fine based on what I found. The lack of intake fans is a bit concerning for me.
I also bought some Arctic F12s thinking they’d work as intakes, but even though I set them to PWM in the BIOS, I can’t control them and the fan speeds aren’t showing.
Sorry for the questions—I’ve been away from PC hardware research for a while now, so I’m not entirely sure about the current generation.
Thanks for any advice!
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! What bothers me is that three fans are scheduled to run out, two are mounted on the CPU cooler and one is at the rear. Is this something to worry about? Usually not, but it depends on your case type and intake design. Do you have a link to your CyberPower prebuilt?
Thanks, I'm still wondering why I ever went to console.

I bought this one, it matches the description exactly with no changes.
According to what I said, it seems to be functioning properly and temperatures are within the expected ranges I found online. The absence of intakes is making me a bit worried now.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d runs at around 35 and max has been seen up to 69
GPU: MSI 4070 is super idle at 30 with a max temp of 70
Those readings look normal though the build image shows fans on the intake side near the motherboard tray. Do you have any fans for intake? If not, your case appears to be in negative air pressure, which means exhaust fans are also pulling in cooler air through the front and sides.
I did notice those in the images but there are none there on mine, I attempted to use 2 Arctic F12’s there and they do rotate but i have no control of them in bios and the rpm does not display. I may be better taking those out then, i hadn’t considered negative air pressure. No i dont have any fans set to intake. If the temps look ok i guess theres nothing to worry about
Thank you for your help!
Thank you, that helps ease my concerns. Would it make sense to include intake fans on the side panel? I’ve had trouble getting Arctic F12s to display them in the BIOS.
