Almost no one remains, buddy. About 80% headed to Assetto Corsa Competizione, while the other 20% were scattered between rFactor 2 and iRacing. Used to have a complete field of 30 racers competing every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but now even the chat channels are gone. It used to be exciting, though—it's nice that the latest update 1.9 on ACC made it more similar to PC2. As for Automobilista 2, the new version meant for Project Cars 2 is still in early testing, with only a handful of players and lots of DLCs. Most are stuck in different lobbies, mostly racing GT3 models. It still feels incomplete and carries the same issues as PC2, like missing midsession joining and long laps that haven't even started yet. On the other hand, ACC has over 3,000 drivers on its EU servers at any time.
Thanks for the update. A couple of online lobbies remain active, though it seems there aren't any servers currently operational.
I regularly receive Steam invites from friends I met in that game, who still compete there, but each time we try to join, it's just a handful of players. If we want to race GT3 cars, ACC seems to be the better option. It's disappointing how the game essentially vanished in a single night. LMP racing used to be thrilling. I sometimes log in to check if my times in time trials are still at the top at the tracks I visited, but I haven't raced there in more than a year. It's intriguing though the contrasts between ACC and PC2, particularly their main issues: - In PC2 you can't join mid-race and have to wait for everyone to return to the lobby; - In ACC you can't set up a server where you actively alter tracks and conditions after a race, so you must join different servers. Also GT3 and GT4 only.
Fortunately, the closest match for PC2's features, vehicle options, and community is Gran Turismo 7. However, it isn't available on PC just yet.
