I want to capture just the window/game without anything else. I’ve learned how to set this up with OBS, but the footage looks extremely blurry. Shadowplay usually works well, though it can either show the whole desktop when a game is fully screened or run through GeForce Experience. Since I need to play Skyrim via Minecraft Online and my mods won’t work, how could I record the game while it’s running in a window without using all extra space?

Are you working with two monitors? If not, I’m confused about recording the desktop while the game is already in fullscreen. OBS should be set up, but you might have recorded using the default options. Check the settings and increase the bitrate to around 5000kbps or higher.

OBS offers superior recording quality compared to Shadow Play. Just ensure proper configuration. Numerous helpful tutorials are available online.

It also puts more strain on the PC in terms of performance. From a quality standpoint, ShadowPlay performs well, though the color vibrancy is slightly reduced. Since I record a lot for my WoW guild during raids, I’ve tried it out extensively.

You can save files using your built-in GPU, such as with an Intel CPU, without any impact on performance. The image resolution might be a bit reduced since Intel Quick Sync affects overall quality, though it remains quite acceptable.

I've attempted QS recording, but you'll require a significantly higher bitrate to match x264's quality at lower bitrates (2-4 times less).
