Hi there! I upgraded to a Ryzen 9 7950x and have been experiencing some problems with RAM usage. I'm running Windows 11 and have been using it since before the upgrade. I have two 16GB RAM sticks, which adds up to 32GB total. However, in the Task Manager view of my users tab, I see only one user. It looks like I'm using about 52% of my RAM, but when converted to percentages, it seems like only around 30% is being utilized. That means roughly 7GB of RAM is actually available, which is very limited. It seems like the system might not be recognizing or properly using the RAM. Anyone have any insights into what could be causing this issue?

You downloaded and executed MemTest. AIDA64 includes its own memory testing feature. There was a recent issue I noticed regarding memory usage, possibly linked to a driver or a Windows update.

The amount of "hardware reserved" on the memory page in Task Manager varies depending on your system configuration and settings. It is typically displayed as a percentage or in MB, but you can check it directly through the Task Manager interface.

You might have overlooked the fact that iGP was configured to restrict 32GB in BIOS. The graphics were already included in the 7000 series.

Due to such a large quantity, sometimes a RAM module or CPU socket might not make proper contact, causing the device to appear detected yet unusable. This results in the entire cost of the hardware being recorded as reserved.

I believed the system didn't start correctly since it attempted to fix the issue and then failed.

I'll review this once the memtest finishes. It seems to require roughly an hour per test, and I was about ten minutes in after the recommendation. So far, I haven't played around much with the BIOS—just set up the XMP equivalent. I'm using the Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX, and it might need some tweaking. I'll definitely attempt to re-seat them, but first I'll take off one of the fans from my NH-D15.

I ran the memtest and it completed successfully with no issues. The memory was repositioned but remained unchanged. I reviewed my memory and found the answer: does the memory tab offer any helpful details?

There's no way I'm just doomed to have a fourth my capacity...
