Cap FPS
Cap FPS
Hey there, I'm curious about setting a frame per second cap for your games. Since you mostly play online FPS titles like Battlefield, CSGO, and Overwatch, along with a few others, I'm wondering if limiting your FPS could actually improve your gameplay. It might help with consistency or reduce lag, but it could also affect performance if you're not using the highest settings. I'm not sure what would work best for your setup.
You're referring to adjusting the display settings, such as using V-sync. The right approach really varies based on your monitor model.
Setting your FPS cap serves its purpose only when you aim to minimize screen tearing, OR when your game relies on frame rate to identify movement. If your FPS fluctuates significantly, you might face aiming problems because of the character's motion and the game may react slightly differently. Extremely dedicated shooter players often cap their FPS to avoid issues without G-sync or FreeSync, though I haven't encountered any problems with that approach.
