Nope, I tried a different stick with 8.1 and one with Ubuntu. Neither was the right installation disk. I checked all those ports too. This is just a laptop though, so I can't unplug anything!

I just tried it and ran into no luck. I'm planning a DIY BIOS update using EZ-FLASH, but I really dislike having to do that kind of work without internet access.

I used EZ-FLASH to get my BIOS updated to the newest version, but nothing changed. It feels like something is wrong with my motherboard, right? That kind of strange glitch usually means a hardware problem.
